Maple Lodge Farms Wins the Smart Commute Cup!

Brampton, Ontario – Today, Regional Councillor Paul Palleschi and Smart Commute Brampton-Caledon Board of Directors Gary Collins and Wayne Waters, presented Maple Lodge Farms with the Smart Commute Cup, in recognition of the company’s commitment to reducing traffic congestion and eliminating greenhouse gas emissions. Currently, Maple Lodge Farms leads all Smart Commute business across the GTHA with over 354 employees registered in their carpool program, and 154 designated carpool parking spaces.

“It is a great honour to be recognized by Smart Commute Brampton-Caledon.  Maple Lodge Farms believes in its environmental responsibility and are committed to take a proactive approach in reducing green house gas emissions,” said Geoff Quinn, Manager, Corporate Security. “We are extremely proud of our employees for not only participating in the Smart Commute program, but also for truly embracing the initiative.”

Smart Commute Brampton-Caledon is a not for profit organization with funding and support from Metrolinx and the Region of Peel. The organization has helped commuters prevent over 1,200,000 kilograms of greenhouse gas emissions by eliminating over 5,000,000 kilometres of car travel since 2007. Eleven employers with more than 20,000 employees are currently partnered with Smart Commute Brampton-Caledon.
